Large Mookaite pendant with cord, wrapped in bare copper

This piece of Mookaite was part of a collection I found at an estate sale. There were two of these pieces cut but left unpolished so I merely finished them because the cuts were so interesting. Mookaite is often referred to as a jasper but I have had native Australians tell me that it is actually not a jasper. Regardless, it's a beautiful stone and I have seen it in several colors. This pendant/necklace is wrapped in bare copper wire and finished with a waxed cotton cord with knots for adjustability.
