I love to tumble rocks. In addition to my lapidary work, I like to break or cut slabs into irregular pieces and put them in the tumbler. Yes, it takes a long time -- but look at the shine. This gorgeous green stone is a form of petrified bog wood, called Larsonite, or Gary Green. From a location near McDermitt, Oregon, on the Nevada-Oregon border, it is believed to be wood that was covered by volcanic ash and debris between 11-15 million years ago.
This is a freeform shaped, polished piece of Gary Green petrified bog wood that has been wrapped for a rustic look, in bare copper wire. The cord is tan waxed cotton that has been knotted to be adjustable.
