Rhodochrosite Composite Stone Pendant

In the not so distant past, I used to disregard "composite" stones but now I see them as the ultimate in recycling. To make composite stones, all the little bits and pieces leftover from cutting and polishing are gathered up, cleaned and packed in a mold with some sort of epoxy resin (sometimes molten metal) poured in to fill up all the nooks and crannies giving us a whole new block of product to work with. Recycling at its best! So this a not quite perfect teardrop wrapped in sterling silver wire with silver plated beads to add a little visual interest. While I include a polishing cloth, I do not include a chain as most jewelry-loving women already have a collection of them.
